Rockies' third baseman Arenado used to dive for grounders at first base

Apparently Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado has been making spectacular defensive plays for a long time -- from the other corner of the infield too. Rockies beat writer Thomas Harding quotes Arenado’s mother:

"He was playing first base, and there was a ball hit between second and first," Millie said. "And I was like, 'Oh, my.' And he would dive for balls and do things other kids couldn't do at the time.”

The 24-year-old already has two Gold Gloves, and he’s already looking like the front-runner for his third at third this season. Over the weekend he turned a possible base hit into a double play.
