Report: Wright might miss season

New York Mets third baseman David Wright might be sidelined the rest of the season because of his strained right hamstring, MLB.com reports.

"No question," manager Terry Collins told the website. "There's nothing etched in stone. We're hoping certainly that it's four weeks. If it's five, it's five. If it's six, it's six. If he gets back, tremendous. That means the healing process and all the rehab stuff will work. But there is absolutely no timetable at all."

Wright hasn’t played since suffering the injury while running to first base on Aug. 2. According to MLB.com, he hasn’t progressed to the point where he can begin to do baseball activities.

In 105 games this season, Wright is hitting .309/.391/.512 with 16 homers, 54 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. He was the starting third baseman for the NL All-Star team.
