Report: Bronson Arroyo 'perfectly fine,' drawing wide interest
Veteran starter Bronson Arroyo missed the entirety of last season with an elbow injury and will turn 39 before next season, but he believes he's ready to take a major-league mound again.
According to an ESPN report, Arroyo believes he's "perfectly fine" after missing the 2015 season from an elbow injury that required Tommy John surgery.
In his 15-year career, the right-hander with his iconic high leg kick has notched a 145-131 record with a 4.19 ERA in 2,364 2/3 innings over 405 outings, 369 of which have been starts. Over his past three seasons, he has gone 33-26 with a 3.82 ERA.
Although he didn't play last season, Arroyo bounced around various teams due to his contract. After beginning the season with the Arizona Diamondbacks, he was traded to the Atlanta Braves in June. A month later, he was dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Even after missing a full season, Arroyo is reportedly drawing plenty of interest around MLB for his services next season.
According to ESPN's report, the Braves, Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, and Philadelphia Phillies have all inquired about Arroyo.
