The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired outfielder Jaff Decker and right-handed pitcher Miles Mikolas from the San Diego Padres for outfielder Alex Dickerson.

Decker hit .286 with 10 home runs and 40 RBI in 105 games with Triple-A Tucson in 2013. He also went 4 for 26 with a homer and two RBI in 13 games with the Padres. Mikolas went 4-2 with 26 saves for Tucson this year and made two scoreless appearances for San Diego.

Dickerson was selected the Eastern League Rookie of the Year after hitting .288 with 17 home runs and 68 RBIs with Double-A Altoona.

To make room for Decker and Mikolas on the 40-man roster, the Pirates designated first baseman/outfielder Garrett Jones and right-handed pitcher Kyle McPherson for assignment.
