Orioles shuffle roles of Stockstill brothers

The Baltimore Orioles have shuffled their front office alignment, switching the role of brothers David Stockstill and John Stockstill in a move spurred by geographical considerations.

David Stockstill, formerly the director of player development, will become director of international scouting. John Stockstill, the former head of international scouting, will assume David Stockstill's former job.

The moves, announced Friday, will take place April 5.

Club president Andy MacPhail says he made the switch primarily because John Stockstill lives in Maryland, making it convenient for him to oversee the Orioles' player development system.

David Stockstill, who lives in Missouri, will oversee all the club's international operations.
