Orioles hire Chiti as bullpen coach

Published Nov. 11, 2013 4:01 p.m. ET

The Baltimore Orioles have hired Dom Chiti as bullpen coach, a role he served with the Texas Rangers from 2006 to 2008.

Chiti joins the Orioles from Atlanta, where he was special assistant to the general manager since leaving the Rangers.

The 54-year-old Chiti worked in the Rangers' organization from 2002. Before that, he spent 12 years with the Cleveland Indians, holding down several jobs, including bullpen coach.

Chiti's coach career began in 1982 with the Orioles. Over a nine-year span, he was minor league pitching coach and a roving pitching instructor.
