Glamorous patrons in black tie played casino-style games at PARC's 41st annual Black Diamond Ball, held at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort in St. Petersburg.

More than 400 guests filled the ballroom, which was decorated in a vintage Hollywood theme, and baseball fans went to a lounge area set up for those who watched the Tampa Bay Rays win against the Texas Rangers in Game 3 of the American League Division Series.

Honored for their successes in the community were the 2010 13 Magnetic Men: Dr. Frederic J. Guerrier, Steve Klar, Ken Lucas, Robert Menke, D.T. Minich, Keith Overton, Dr. Andy Peterson, Jim Pollard, Cary Putrino, Tim Ramsberger, Robin Sanderford, John Stross and John Wilson.

Kelsey Littlefield chaired the event committee, which included Linda Armstrong, Sue Brett, Tonya Corder, Lorene Dolan, Thelma Gilbert, Angela Harwell, Christine Joyner, Rose Lampert, Joyce Larson, Alison Lescarbeau, Celma Louise Mastry, Marty Medley, Deonne Meier, Lyn Orns, Ashlee Phillips, Susan Rasmussen and Cheryl Sanchez.

The evening brought in more than $120,000 for the adults and children with developmental disabilities at PARC. Major sponsors were Diamonds Direct Fine Jewelers, Progress Energy, Raymond James Financial and the Stoner Organization.

The Order of Salvador investiture and elevations each year are both solemn and celebratory, honoring significant supporters of the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. This time was no exception, with one patron wearing a Rays T-shirt under his tuxedo, as he was headed to Tropicana Field later in the evening.

The event, which featured a champagne reception before and coffee and dessert afterward, was somewhat bittersweet: As patrons prepare for a new museum to open in January, they are saying farewell to the current one.

Tom James, Knight Grand Collar of the Order, presented the Morse Award to Cathy Martin, who is coordinating many of the events surrounding the grand opening. James, Brad and Mary Ann Morse and Bill Hough presided at the investiture of these knights and dames of the Order of Salvador: Emmanuel and Montserrat Cerf, Olivier and Susan Cerf,Michael and Catherine Cheezem, Claude and Sue Corty, Lanny and Ellen Dacus, Robert and Jillian Doyle, James and Emily Gillespie, Dr. John Hamilton, Robert and Chris Hilton, Laura Tillinghast Hine, Otto and Maria Kern, Ernest and Judy Morelli, Stephen and Rita Peters, Dr. Michael and Sandy Slomka, Anthony and Rosemarie Terra, and Elizabeth Willis. William Chamberlain and Abdul Lateef were named to the Order of Salvador.

Elevations included Charles and Beatrice Black, Alain and Elisabeth Cerf and Robert and Sally Willis to officers; Eugene and Karen Lang Johnston to Knight and Dame Commander; Al May to Knight; and Mary Ann Morseto Dame Commander 1st Class.

Museum director Hank Hine paid tribute to Eleanor Morse, who died in July. Mrs. Morse and her late husband, Reynolds, founded the museum.

Hine said he anticipated the move to the new building and "a grand coterie of new supporters."
