The Washington Nationals will keep first baseman-outfielder Chris Marrero on their major league roster after recalling him from Triple-A Syracuse for the day-night doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins.

Manager Davey Johnson said the Nationals will send down outfielder Tyler Moore, who is hitting .149 this season.

Marrero was batting .306 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs with Syracuse. He was 0 for 1 as a pinch hitter in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader.

Marrero last played with the Nationals in 2011, appearing in 31 games and hitting .248 with 10 RBIs.
