ZEBULON, N.C. (AP) The Carolina Mudcats' series at Myrtle Beach this week has been canceled after the team's bus wrecked on its way to South Carolina.

Carolina League President John Hopkins said Wednesday that the Mudcats have returned home, and players and field staff will continue to be medically evaluated.

The three-game series was supposed to begin Tuesday and conclude Thursday.

The Mudcats are the Atlanta Braves' advanced Single-A farm team. The team's bus flipped on its side early Tuesday near Chadbourn, North Carolina, and eight players and a trainer were taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment. They were all released from the hospital later that morning.
