Minor league team rethinks promotion that made fun of player's defense
Minor league teams will go to great lengths to draw a crowd. But even the Omaha Storm Chasers thought they went too far with an intended promotion that would have given fans a discount on team merchandise for every misplay Colorado Springs Sky Sox outfielder Keon Broxton made.

The team opted to cancel the promotion, saying that the idea was "an unfortunate lapse in judgement."
Braxton, who is in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, has bounced back and forth between the majors and minors. He's made one error in seven games while with the Sky Sox, which makes the promotion stranger. His defensive statistics don't paint him as a poor player in the field. And even if he did struggle, it's in poor taste to take a shot at any player, especially one who's not on your team.
