Miley, Bergman strong in short outings for Mariners, Rockies

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) Wade Miley tuned up for the regular season with three solid innings in the Seattle Mariners' 1-1 nine-inning tie with the Colorado Rockies on Friday night.

Miley, Seattle's No. 3 starter, allowed a run on three hits and struck out three. He'll pitch next Wednesday in Texas.

Christian Bergman struck out four in three scoreless innings for the Rockies. Ben Paulsen had two hits and scored the Rockies' only run.

Yohan Flande threw four scoreless innings in relief for Colorado. Seattle relievers Joaquin Benoit, Vidal Nuno and Joel Peralta held the the Rockies to one hit between them.

Ketel Marte had three hits and scored the tying run in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. Kyle Seager added two hits for the Mariners.
