Mets place David Wright on disabled list with neck injury

NEW YORK (AP) New York Mets third baseman David Wright has been placed on the disabled list because of a herniated disk in his neck.

The Mets announced the decision on Friday, retroactive to May 30. Wright has missed five straight games with the injury.

He's expected to need six-to-eight weeks of rest and rehabilitation.

The Mets recalled infielder Matt Reynolds, who will be at Friday night's game in Miami.
