Marlins plan Fiesta Friday nights

Published Mar. 25, 2010 7:21 p.m. ET

Florida Marlins baseball fans will be able to enjoy live Latin beats at Friday night home games this season.

The Marlins will take the field as ``Los Marlins'' on Fiesta Fridays, a nod to South Florida's diverse community. Other plans include salsa and merengue music before games, bilingual PA announcements and a percussionist group in the stands called the Marlins Pachanga.

Sean Flynn, the team's vice president of marketing, said in a statement that the nights will ``accentuate South Florida's Latin flavor while bringing the feel of Caribbean baseball to the stadium experience.''

Fiesta Fridays will start April 30.
