Light failure delays Giants-Cardinals game in 11th

Published Jun. 2, 2011 1:16 a.m. ET

Sections of two light standards at Busch Stadium failed with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning Wednesday night, delaying the finish of the San Francisco Giants' game at St. Louis.

The Giants were leading 7-5 and the Cardinals had a runner on first against Brian Wilson with a 2-1 count on Allen Craig. That's when more than half of two sections of the lights to the right of home plate went out.

Umpires conferred briefly before halting play.
