Hey, umps: Don't make Big Papi wait
The Red Sox were leading the Twins 3-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning on Sunday, when the heavens opened up above Target Field and the rain came down. With a Monday night game in Chicago, the Red Sox were certainly hoping the delay would be brief — or the game would be called.
Well, two hours later after the delay began, the teams were still being held hostage by Mother Nature, waiting to hear if they would get a chance to resume play. And David Ortiz was tired of waiting around.
The Red Sox designated hitter tweeted his displeasure at the length of the delay two hours after play was halted. Check out what he had to say below.
Raining for 2 hours and nobody will call the game.... Come on!!!!! http://t.co/QipvKHOXp7

On the bright side, the movie "The Sandlot" was played on the big screen — in its entirety!!! — during the delay. And while Ortiz was steaming during the delay that ultimately lasted three hours, some of his teammates appeared to be in no rush at all.
I would love to see @davidortiz do a tarp slide! Who's with me????? @JacobyEllsbury will record it

Ultimately, the Red Sox won the game 5-1, scoring twice more after the delay.
