Harper ejected for arguing called 3rd strike

Published Jul. 13, 2013 10:49 p.m. ET

Nationals left fielder Bryce Harper was ejected for arguing a called third strike in the eighth inning of Washington's game against the Miami Marlins on Saturday night.

Harper was tossed by home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt. Harper also had complained about a called third strike his previous at-bat, leading off the sixth.

Harper had walked and scored on Jayson Werth's sacrifice fly in the fourth. He was voted to start Tuesday night's All-Star Game at Citi Field.

Washington led Miami 1-0 at the time Harper was ejected.
