PITTSBURGH (AP) The Pirates announced Friday that Major League Baseball has voided the Cleveland Indians' waiver claim of right-handed reliever Deolis Guerra because of injury and Pittsburgh placed him on the 15-day disabled with left knee inflammation.

Guerra appeared in 10 games with the Pirates this season, going 2-0 with a 6.48 ERA.

To clear a spot on the 40-man roster the Pirates designated right-hander Wilfredo Boscan, who was pitching at Triple-A Indianapolis, for assignment.
