Granderson sent to doctor because of eye issue

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) New York Mets right fielder Curtis Granderson was sent to an eye doctor as a precaution after arriving to the team's spring training facility with a redness in one of his eyes.

Granderson missed Monday's workout.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Granderson's eye was pretty red and the team was concerned about the possibility the three-time All-Star might have conjunctivitis and be contagious.
