Giants-Dodgers rivalry continues Tuesday tonight

Published Apr. 21, 2015 7:12 p.m. ET

The Dodgers and Giants play Tuesday night and for the next two nights after that in San Francisco as well as another three games next week in Los Angeles. While the two teams come together for the first time this year with polar opposite records, Anthony Witrado of Bleacher Report still thinks the match-up is intriguing. He says:

"Three World Series runs in five years by the Giants and three consecutive division titles by the Dodgers have given this rivalry a new bounce in its step."

Meanwhile, outfielder Scott Van Slyke lends credence to the notion of a rivalry:

“They definitely get a little meaner up there than in other cities,” Van Slyke said of patrolling the outfield at AT&T Park. “And I’m sure their guys hear it when they come here, too.”

Regardless of the teams' records, Madison Bumgarner pitching against Clayton Kershaw on Wednesday is certainly compelling.
