Dodgers reinstate Carl Crawford, option Brandon Beachy
As anticipated, the Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated outfielder Carl Crawford from the disabled list on Tuesday.
Crawford had been on the disabled list since injuring his right oblique in late April, and joins a crowded Dodgers outfield that includes Scott Van Slyke and Alex Guerrero as reserves in addition to a stacked starting lineup of Andre Ethier in left, Joc Pederson in center, and Yasiel Puig in right.
Manager Don Mattingly has said that Crawford will only play left field after returning from the disabled list and plans to keep Ethier as the team's starting left fielder.
In a corresponding move, the Dodgers optioned Monday's pitcher Brandon Beachy to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
#Dodgers today reinstated OF Carl Crawford from the 60-day DL (right oblique strain) and optioned RHP Brandon Beachy to @okc_dodgers.

In his second outing of the season on Monday against his former team, the Atlanta Braves, Beachy only lasted four innings while giving up five hits, four earned runs, three walks, and striking out three.
