LOS ANGELES — Left fielder Carl Crawford has been put on the 15-day disabled list by the Los Angeles Dodgers because of a sprained left ankle.

The Dodgers promoted Triple-A outfielder Jamie Romak to the majors for the first time.

The moves were announced Wednesday night before the finale of the Dodgers' three-game series against Cincinnati.

This is Crawford's sixth trip to the DL in 13 big-league seasons. His injury occurred in the eighth inning of Tuesday night's 6-3 victory when he chased Chris Heisey's double into the left-field corner. The four-time All-Star is batting .267 with four home runs and 18 RBI in 44 games.

Romak, whose contract was selected from Albuquerque, batted .272 with 13 homers and 30 RBI in 48 games at Triple-A.
