DJ draws ire for Sosa stunt

Was it a case of Sammy Sosa lacking a sense of humor or a DJ going too far?

Enrique Santos, a host for a South Florida radio station, showed up Saturday on the red carpet at Sosa's birthday party in Miami looking like he stayed too long in a spray tanning booth.

Santos said he was making fun of Sosa's recent dramatic change in complexion.

"I'm currently using a cream which has darkened my complexion,'' Santos sarcastically told The Miami Herald. "Ironically, Sammy is going through the same process, but the cream he is using is making him white."

Santos said he was approached by a publicist who told him he couldn't make fun of Sosa. After that initial warning, Santos said he was kicked out of the event at a resort.

Sosa was seen recently with a much lighter skin tone and green contact lenses. The Chicago Tribune reported last week that the change was due to a skin rejuvenation process.
