The San Francisco Giants reinstated infielder Mark DeRosa from the 60-day disabled list before Thursday night's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.

DeRosa, hampered by a left wrist strain, has been limited to 18 games this season. It's the same wrist he had surgically repaired.

He is hitting .162 with no homers and three RBIs. He is a career .271 hitter with 93 home runs.

Brandon Belt was optioned to Triple-A Fresno to make room for DeRosa on the 25-man roster. Belt was 5 of 21 with a homer and three RBIs in his latest stint with the Giants.
