NEW YORK (AP) Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke has been activated from the disabled list to start Tuesday night against the New York Mets.

Greinke last pitched on June 28 and exited with a strain on his left side. He is 10-3 with a 3.62 ERA.

The Diamondbacks also put catcher Welington Castillo on the paternity list. By rule, he'll miss from one to three games.

Catcher Oscar Hernandez was recalled from Double-A Mobile. He was hitting a combined .249 with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs at two levels of the minors.
