Cubs manager Dale Sveum ejected in fifth inning

Published May. 18, 2012 4:56 p.m. ET

Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum was ejected from Friday's game against the White Sox in the fifth inning for arguing a call at second base.

The Cubs' David DeJesus hit a ball to left center and appeared to slide safely into second. But when White Sox's second baseman Gordon Beckham went to make a tag, his body knocked DeJesus off the bag and umpire Marty Foster ruled DeJesus out.

Sveum came out to protest and after several moments his argument became heated and he was ejected for the second time this season.
