During the matinee game between the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles Thursday afternoon, the Yankees' starting pitcher celebrated his special day by encapsulating the team's 2016 disappointing season in one pitch — and completely falling off the mound:

Sabathia surrendered 4 earned runs in 6.2 innings and was the losing pitcher in the Yankees' 4-1 loss. Before Thursday's contest, the six-time All-Star had pitched three other times on his birthday — winless in all four with a 7.48 ERA.
