Brewers send RHP Saito to DL, recall Kintzler

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed right-handed reliever Takashi Saito on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

The team has recalled right-hander Brandon Kintzler from Triple-A Nashville, and he will join the team in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Saito has made two appearances this season, including a rough outing against Atlanta last week in which he gave up a pair of home runs and took the loss. The team originally didn't expect Saito to have to go on the disabled list when he began experiencing tightness in his hamstring but ended up doing so on Monday, making the move retroactive to April 5.

Saito signed a $1.75 million, one-year contract with the Brewers in the offseason.
