Brewers left-hander Manny Parra has hip surgery

Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Manny Parra has undergone surgery to repair a small tear in the labrum his left hip.

Parra was operated on Thursday by Dr. William Raasch in Milwaukee.

The team said the pitcher will rehabilitate in California, where he lives in Roseville, and that he is expected to be ready for spring training.

The 27-year-old was 3-10 with a 5.02 ERA this season in 16 starts and 26 relief appearances.
