Brewers' Hawkins may undergo surgery

Milwaukee Brewers reliever LaTroy Hawkins got a second opinion on his shoulder injury, and manager Ken Macha said the right-hander likely would undergo surgery.

Macha said Tuesday that Dr. Lewis Yocum's diagnosis agreed with the team's.

Hawkins, 0-3 with an 8.44 ERA, was placed on the 15-day disabled list last week with what the team described as weakness in the shoulder. He was on the disabled list for 2 1/2 months earlier this season with the same problem.
