Brewers appreciate Parra's versatility

There's not a lot that Gerardo Parra can't do on a baseball field and that's exactly why Brewes manager Craig Counsell enjoys having him on the team.

"Parra's best trait is he's able to do, really, anything," Counsell told Brewers.com. "He's just a versatile player. Three outfield positions, great defense everywhere. You look at him any spot in the lineup, and he's maybe not the perfect fit, but he can do everything. That's a very valuable player. That's what he's proven to be."

Parra has played – and started at – all thre outfield positions for the Brewes this season and, if necessary, can play first base – something he worked on during Spring Training.

"It helps to have a player on your roster like that who's capable of doing a lot of things," Counsell said. "It makes your job easier, for sure."
