Braves OF Infante leaves game with foot injury

Published Jun. 11, 2010 10:27 p.m. ET

Atlanta Braves left fielder Omar Infante left the series opener against the Minnesota Twins on Friday night because of a bruised left foot.

Infante fouled a pitch off his foot in the fifth inning. A trainer came out to check on him, but he remained in the game through the at-bat and also played defense in the bottom of the fifth.

But when the Braves came out to play defense in the sixth, center fielder Melky Cabrera moved to left field and Gregor Blanco was inserted in center field.

The Braves said Infante was taken for X-rays, but there was no immediate word on the severity of his injury. Infante went 0 for 2 with a strikeout against Francisco Liriano.
