Atlanta Braves righty Shelby Miller has pitched sensationally all season for his new team, but his new teammates have failed to pick him up when he tosses a gem, as he did in a 2-1 loss to the Washington Nationals on Wednesday.

While Miller was granted a no-decision for Wednesday's game, wins have been hard to come by for the 24-year-old ace despite his 1.94 ERA and .200 opponent batting average this season.

In fact, Miller hasn't won a game since May 17, and has gone seven consecutive starts without being credited with a win.

You won't find him complaining about the cobwebs in his wins column, though.

"That's part of the game," Miller said. "All I'm trying to do is go out there and pitch. Wins are great, but at the end of the day we lost. I'm not going out and trying to win for myself, I'm trying to win for the team and we're trying to get in to first place. We're playing a good team and it's frustrating losing two games when we're trying to chase this thing. But we've just got to keep grinding this thing out."

Manager Fredi Gonzalez praises Miller's poise and perspective.

"This guy is a straight pro," Gonzalez said. "Before this [unlucky] run, he was on a great run and he was the same guy. I don't worry about his psyche at all."
