Attorney: Ex-Ray Bush will take plea

An attorney for Matt Bush, a former pitcher in the Tampa Bay Rays organization, says the baseball player is expected to agree to a plea deal in a DUI crash that injured a motorcyclist.

Bush was being held Saturday in the Charlotte County jail on $440,000 bail. He faces multiple DUI-related charges, along with charges of leaving the scene of the March 22 accident that seriously injured 72-year-old Tony Tufano.

Bush was released by the Rays in October. His father tells the Tampa Bay Times that Bush will agree to a plea deal that involves a prison sentence of at least three more years.

Bush's attorney, Russell Kirshy, says a plea deal had been reached and a hearing was scheduled Tuesday. He declined to disclose the deal's terms.
