The game between the Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday was delayed 19 minutes in the first inning because of a light failure at Tropicana Field.

The Rays said a lightning strike affected an electrical substation near the ballpark.

Both teams left the field as the lights at the stadium were restored with two outs in the bottom of the first. The game was scoreless at the time.
