Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers made his MLB debut against the Oakland A’s on Monday night, and he relied on the Bat-Signal to help give him confidence.

McCullers, 21, took the mound at Minute Maid Park wearing some awesome Batman cleats. Many were quick to point out that New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey must have been jealous.

Harvey is also a Batman junkie, and he even has “Dark Knight” written across the knob of his bats. David Price is another big Batman fan, as he showed us when he rolled up to the stadium wearing this.

The cleats did their job for the most part, as McCullers struck out five batters and allowed just three hits and one earned run over 4 2/3 innings of work. Although the Astros lost 2-1, that’s not bad for a Batman-themed MLB debut.
