Astros coaches agree to extensions

Published Sep. 25, 2010 8:05 p.m. ET

Each member of the Houston Astros' coaching staff, except for hitting instructor Jeff Bagwell, has agreed to a two-year contract extension.

Bagwell replaced Sean Berry at the All-Star break and only committed to staying through the end of the season. He says he wants to consult with his family before making a decision about his future.

Bagwell spent his entire 15-year playing career with Houston, hitting 449 homers.

General manager Ed Wade said before Saturday's game at Pittsburgh that the Astros hope Bagwell will continue in the role.
