Jeff Lockie has been 'dreaming' about being the starting QB

Published Aug. 13, 2015 2:18 p.m. ET

With Vernon Adams Jr. busy studying for his big math test, redshirt junior Jeff Lockie has been leading Oregon's practices and he's been looking very good doing it.

While Lockie knows he has big shoes to fill in replacing Marcus Mariota, he says he doesn't look at it like that. ”I don’t think anyone can fill Marcus’ shoes – very few could do that," he said, according to Warren Williamson of ODFN. "We’re just trying to be ourselves and do what we do best.”

As for the role of being the starting QB at Oregon, Lockie said he's been thinking about the opportunity since he was a kid.
