Calipari: I don't own or know how to turn on a computer
At first glance, Kentucky's John Calipari appears to be social media savvy. Seemingly always a step ahead of the game on the coaching and recruiting circuit, Coach Cal has 1.3 million Twitter followers and 540,000 "likes" on his Facebook page.
And yet, he doesn't own a computer.
He said he doesn't even know how to turn one on.
“I’ll never have Hillary’s problem,’’ Calipari joked to USA Today, referring to the controversy over Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server for work-related emails as secretary of state. “I don’t do email. You want to talk to me, call me. If you need it to be private, we’ll go in the bathroom and turn on the water. You Italians know what I’m talking about.’’
The Kentucky coach admitted to hiring people to help out with his social media presence.
“I hired people to do Twitter and Facebook. I know what goes out, but I don’t read one tweet coming back, I don’t tweet it out, 1.3 million followers.’’
Ah, the perks of being one of the most influential coaches in college basketball history.
