Bio
Mark Ingram joined FOX Sports as a college football studio analyst prior to the 2023 season. He sits alongside Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn, Urban Meyer and host Rob Stone on the BIG NOON KICKOFF college football pregame show.
A college football legend, Ingram starred for the Crimson Tide from 2008-10. In his three seasons, Ingram was an integral part of Alabama’s re-emergence as a dominant power in college football. Following a strong freshman season where he set the Alabama freshman record for touchdowns in a season, Ingram’s sophomore campaign was one of the most extraordinary in college football history. With 1,678 yards rushing, 334 receiving yards, and 20 total touchdowns, Ingram earned First-Team All-SEC honors, was voted a Unanimous All-American, and was named 2009’s Heisman Trophy recipient, the first in Alabama history. At the time Ingram was nine days shy of his twentieth birthday, making him the youngest player to win the Heisman. Ingram would later receive MVP honors in the BCS title game as Alabama beat Texas to win its 13th national title.
Ingram would declare for the draft following another impressive season as a junior and would be selected in the first round of the NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints.
Ingram has played 12 seasons with three teams, the Saints, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans. Over his career, Ingram rushed for 8,111 yards and scored 65 touchdowns on the ground. A versatile back, Ingram also racked up 2,125 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. Ingram would earn three Pro Bowl honors over his career and would become the Saint’s leading rusher in 2021 and only the second player in team record books with at least 8,000 total yards from scrimmage.
In addition to Ingram’s contributions on the field, he’s been active in the community through the Mark Ingram Foundation, which provides support to the children of incarcerated parents, hosting annual Christmas shopping sprees among other community events. Ingram was also part of a group of NFL players that donated supplies to residents of Ingram’s hometown of Flint during the city’s 2016 water crisis.
Ingram was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, the son of former wide receiver for the New York Giants, Mark Ingram Sr. He attended Grand Blanc Community High School in Grand Blanc, Michigan during his freshman, sophomore and junior years, and then Flint Southwestern Academy in Flint, Michigan for his senior year. He was a four-year starter on his high schools’ football teams, running for 2,546 yards and 38 touchdowns in his final two seasons. He was Saginaw Valley MVP, Area Player of the Year, and an All-State selection as a senior.
