Auburn’s Johnathan Ford named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week

Ford's effort on special teams helped the Tigers gain the upper hand in their game against San Jose State.

In a game that Auburn won by two touchdowns against San Jose State, Johnathan Ford’s two kickoffs proved to be invaluable for the Tigers, as they both set up Peyton Barber touchdown runs. 

Following two tough losses, helping Auburn get the win before its bye was Ford’s ultimate reward, however for his individual efforts, the junior has been named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

• Returned two kickoffs for 81 yards, including a career-long 58 yarder.

• Both returns set up Auburn touchdowns.

• Defensively had a career-high 14 tackles
