Cody Martin - Remains out FridayMartin (knee) won't play in Friday's game versus the Wizards.
ImpactMartin will miss his eighth straight game Friday while dealing with a left knee injury. His next chance to return will be Sunday's matchup with the Knicks.

Gordon Hayward - Likely to play against WashingtonHayward is listed as probable for Friday's game versus the Wizards due to a right hamstring strain.
ImpactHayward has yet to miss a game this season and isn't expected to do so Friday despite dealing with a hamstring injury. The veteran forward is off to a strong start this season, averaging 17.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.6 steals in 32.7 minutes across his first seven appearances.

James Bouknight - Remains out FridayBouknight (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Wizards.
ImpactBouknight underwent knee surgery in October and was recently re-evaluated by the team's medical staff. While he'll remain out Friday, he's been cleared to return to team activity, so he appears to be trending toward a return.

Jordan Poole - Inefficient against CharlottePoole produced 11 points (3-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 20 minutes during Wednesday's 132-116 victory over Charlotte.
ImpactPoole topped 20 points for the second time this season during Monday's loss to Philadelphia, but he was unable to replicate those results with an inefficient showing from the floor Wednesday. He also didn't have much production in secondary categories, but that can at least partially be attributed to playing just 20 minutes in the blowout win. He's averaging 17.4 points and 3.3 assists in 26.9 minutes per game and should have better performances in closer matchups.

Gordon Hayward - Strong all-around effort in lossHayward had 18 points (6-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 132-116 loss to Washington.
ImpactThe 33-year-old forward has had trouble staying healthy in recent years -- Hayward hasn't played more than 52 games in a season since 2018-19 -- but he looks to be 100 percent to begin the current campaign. He's scored in double digits in all seven games so far, shooting a career-high 44.4 percent from three-point range, and his 1.6 steals a night would also be a career high while his 5.1 assists a game would be his best mark in that category in a decade.

LaMelo Ball - Strikes for season-high 34Ball supplied 34 points (13-22 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 132-116 loss to the Wizards.
ImpactThe 34 points topped the season-high 30 that Ball produced Sunday against the Mavericks as part of a triple-double, but neither performance got the Hornets a win. The fourth-year guard has come out of his early-season shooting slump with a vengeance -- after stumbling to a 29.7 percent field-goal percentage through his first five games, Ball's gone 24-for-45 (53.3 percent) over the last two contests.
