Lions suspend C.J. Mosley

The Detroit Lions announced Saturday that defensive tackle C.J. Mosley, a 10-year NFL veteran, has been suspended for two weeks and sent home from London, England, for undisclosed "conduct detrimental" to the team and "violation of team rules."

Mosley, a valuable part of the Lions' talented and deep defensive-line rotation, will miss Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons (9:30 a.m. on FOX). The Lions practiced all week in London after arriving Tuesday morning.

Mosley's absence likely will mean more playing time for rookie Caraun Reid, the team's fifth-round draft pick. Jason Jones, a versatile defensive end, also could move inside to help fill the void.

The Lions promoted safety Jerome Couplin from the practice squad to the 53-man roster to take Mosley's spot.
