Parise keeps positive outlook for Wild
Minnesota Wild star forward Zach Parise isn't letting a sweep in last season's playoffs leave a sour taste in his mouth.
Instead, the 31-year-old insisted to the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he sees great things ahead.
"I'm not on the negative side of things. I feel like a lot of people are," Parise told the newspaper. "I'm not saying we shouldn't have done better last year. I felt like we could have. But the last two seasons, we were one of the last eight teams playing. I'm not saying that’s great and what we’re striving for, but you always remember what last happened."
Parise is referring the team getting swept aside by the eventual-champion Chicago Blackhawks in the second round of the playoffs. Minnesota will have plenty of chances to exact revenge against its Central Division rival, including an outdoor game at TCF Bank Stadium on Feb. 21.
Parise, who led the team with 33 goals and 62 points last season, collected 274 tallies and 292 assists in 691 career games with the New Jersey Devils and Wild.
