Bruins, Flyers rumored to be playing at Fenway

The NHL has set up a press conference Wednesday at Fenway Park in Boston, where it is assumed to be announcing that the 2010 Winter Classic will be played in the home of the Red Sox on New Year's Day.

The rumored participants in the third annual outdoor hockey game are the hometown Boston Bruins against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Other reports say the NHL is actually planning a second outdoor game on the same day this season. The New Year's Day doubleheader would include a game in Calgary pitting the Flames and Maple Leafs. It would be the second outdoor game in Alberta this decade. In 2003, the precursor to the Winter Classic, dubbed the Heritage Classic, saw the Montreal Canadiens face the Oilers in Edmonton.

The previous two Winter Classics were held at Buffalo's Ralph Wilson Stadium (2008) and Chicago's Wrigley Field (2009).
