Sean Payton obviously disappointed in team's pass rush in Week 1
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton had plenty to say about his team's 31-19 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. One thing that definitely stood out though, was his disappointment in the team's pass rush.
According to Katherine Terrell of NOLA.com, Payton simply stated that New Orleans' ability to get the quarterback just wasn't good enough.
"It wasn't good enough, it wasn't good enough," Payton told NOLA.com.
"We had some hurries and some pressures, but, obviously, when a quarterback can have that kind of time, the very first touchdown, the quarterback, Carson Palmer, flushes to the right, and if you count and you watch, and you watch, and you watch, that wasn't like five Mississippi, that was like nine," Payton said.
It's hard to argue with Payton's assessment, as the Saints tallied zero sacks in the Week 1 loss. The lack of a pass rush is going to be talked out heading into Week 2, and it's something that must be improved immediately.
