Jay Gruden: The refs aren't why we lost

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden does not share defensive end Jason Hatcher's belief that the team's nickname has anything to do with why they lost in Week 11 or any other week.

“The refs aren't an excuse,” Gruden said to reporters, per John Keim of ESPN. “It’s not why we lost. Missed tackles, five sacks, five turnovers. We can point directly to that.”

Turnovers and missed tackles have been a common trend during Gruden's two seasons as head coach.
