New Orleans forward David West, the Hornets' leading scorer, has left the team's game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night with a sprained left ankle and will not return.

West, averaging 19.1 points per game, was hurt with 8:20 left in the first quarter. West had not scored at the time of the injury.

West initially went to the bench after the Hornets called timeout, but was later helped to the locker room.
