Washington Wizards' John Wall Goes To Washington Football Game, Wears Cowboys Jersey

Washington Wizards star point guard, John Wall, was recently seen wearing a Dallas Cowboys jersey at a Washington football game in FedExField.
With the exception of leaving the team, there’s not much an NBA star could do to fall out of favor with his team’s fans.
John Wall has been carrying the Washington Wizards since he stepped foot inside the Verizon Center seven years ago. He’s yet to play with another All-Star, but the point guard has never complained. He’s made three straight All-Star appearances and constantly plays through injuries.
Wall, a role model off the court, has been the perfect franchise leader in D.C.
But there’s one thing that Washington fans will have a hard time accepting: their guy is a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Yesterday, when the Cowboys took on the Washington football team, Wall showed love for his favorite club by donning a Dallas jersey on FedExField.

This isn’t the first time that Wall has expressed his love for the team. A few years ago, Wall was asked which team was his favorite. It’s not exactly breaking news.
Still, once the Cowboys’ official Twitter page shared a picture of the Washington point guard rockin’ their jersey, social media exploded.
People immediately began questioning Wall’s motive. To make the situation worse, his teammate, Bradley Beal, showed some love for a Cowboys player on Instagram.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is clearly a plan devised by the Washington Wizards’ backcourt. It’s over, folks. Soon, the two will split and the Wizards will be left with the ghost of Eric Maynor and Steezus.
The sooner we accept the team’s fate, the easier it will be to digest once the split actually occurs.
But in all seriousness, it was pretty funny to watch people overreact on social media.
It’s just a fan wearing a jersey of his favorite team. There’s nothing more to it.
Actually, it’s kind of fascinating to watch someone like Wall, who’s seen thousands of people wear his jersey, put on another player’s jersey. It’s almost like he gets to step outside and become the very person who cheers for him every night he laces up his sneakers.
The entire concept of jerseys it kind of weird, though, no? You’re wearing another person’s name on your back and this person likely doesn’t even have any knowledge of your existence.
Sure, the Washington football team might be near and dear to your heart, but Wall isn’t from D.C. He’s simply representing the team by playing for the Wizards. And for our sake, let’s hope it stays that way.
(Side note: the part about Wall and Beal splitting was a joke. I know it’s hard to detect sarcasm by reading text)
