Golden State Warriors reserve center Ognjen Kuzmic is expected to miss at least six weeks after undergoing surgery on his fractured right hand.
The team says the surgery was performed by Dr. William Maloney and Dr. Amy Ladd at the Stanford Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Clinic on Monday. Kuzmic fractured his fifth metacarpal when he hit his hand on the backboard in the first quarter of Golden State's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Nov. 20.
Kuzmic has appeared in 10 games this season, averaging only 4.1 minutes. The 23-year-old native of Bosnia and Herzegovina was drafted 52nd overall by the Warriors in 2012. He played in Spain last season before coming to the NBA this year.
