Warriors F Lee hobbles off court holding right hip

Golden State forward David Lee hobbled off the court after hurting his right hip on a driving layup in the fourth quarter of Game 1 against Denver on Saturday.

Lee was trying to get around JaVale McGee when he was fouled and fell awkwardly to the floor. Lee made one of two free throws but struggled to get back down the court to play defense. He was in such pain at halfcourt that he was escorted to the bench and then headed into the locker room.

The team said he will not return and is getting X-rays for a ''probable right hip flexor strain.''

Lee had 10 points and 14 rebounds before the injury occurred early in the fourth quarter.
